  • Small Enterprises: Investment in plant and machinery should range between Rs. 1 crore and Rs. 10 crore and turnover should range between Rs. 5 crore and Rs. 50 crores.

  • Medium Enterprises: Investment in equipment and machinery should be between Rs. 10 crores and Rs. 50 crores and turnover should range between Rs. 50 crores and Rs. 250 crores.

Service Enterprises:

  • Micro Enterprises: Investment in equipment should be up to Rs. 10 lakhs and turnover should not be more than Rs. 50 lakhs.

  • Small Enterprises: Investment in equipment should be between Rs. 10 lakhs and Rs. 2 crores and turnover should be between Rs. 50 lakhs and Rs. 10 crores.

  • Medium Enterprises: Investment in equipment should be between Rs. 2 crores and Rs. 5 crores and turnover should be between Rs. 10 crores and Rs. 50 crores.

Steps to Register Your Business for MSME Online: A Step-by-Step Guide


Step 1: Visit the Udyam Registration portal at https://udyamregistration.gov.in/

Step 2: Enter your Aadhaar number and click on the "Validate and Generate OTP" button.

Step 3: Enter the OTP and click on the "Validate OTP" button.

Step 4: Fill in all the details including the name of the enterprise, the type of organization, the PAN number, and the location of the enterprise.

Step 5: Enter details of the investment made in plant and machinery or equipment for manufacturing units, or investment made in equipment for service providers, along with the number of employees.

Step 6: Verify all the details entered on the Udyam Registration form and click on the "Submit" button.

Step 7: Once you have submitted the registration form, you will receive a unique identification number called the Udyam Registration Number (URN). You can use this URN to track the status of your application.

Here are the steps to check the status of your MSME registration online:


Step 1: Visit the Udyam Registration portal at https://udyamregistration.gov.in/ and click on the "MSME/Udyam Registration" button.

Step 2: Enter the Udyam Registration Number (URN) received after submitting the registration application, and click on the "Verify" button.

Step 3: The status of the application will be displayed on the screen. If the application is approved, the registration certificate will be available for download.
